Most principal contractors in Construction, Demolition and Rail require workers on their sites to hold a valid competency card.

ProCard smart card system enables workers to carry qualifications around with them at all times, no matter what the course or where they are working.

ProCard Trained Operator

The ProCard Trained Operator is issued on successful completion of Theory and Practical tests which must be taken at an accredited Pro Cards test centre.

Before taking the technical tests the relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment test must have been completed within the past two years.

Once the ProCards Technical tests have been completed a Trained Operator Card will be issued and is valid for two years.

A TRAINED OPERATOR DEMONSTRATES

  • Health and safety awareness through the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test
  • Underpinning knowledge and understanding through the Pro Cards Theory Test
  • Operating ability through the Pro Cards Practical Test
ProCard Trained Operator

ProCard Competent Operator Card

Candidates who hold a valid (Trained Operator) ProCard are eligible to work towards the (Competent Operator) ProCard within 2 years. To achieve this, they will need to complete the relevant NVQ course.

The ProCard Competent Operator shows employers that you are competent to operate your chosen plant vehicle. It demonstrates that you have the skills to use the machinery, have the Health & Safety Awareness and real world experience.

The ProCard Competent Operator is valid for 5 years starting from the date the application was received. Each category added to the card will have the expiry date of the card.

A COMPETENT OPERATOR DEMONSTRATES

  • Health and safety awareness through the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test
  • Underpinning knowledge previously through a theory test
  • Operating ability previously through a practical test
  • Operating competence on the type of plant (evidenced by an SVQ or NVQ or employer confirmation of competence)
ProCard Competent Operator Card

ProCard Safety Passport

The ProCard Safety Passport has been developed working in close collaboration with Construction, Demolition and Rail professionals.

The course covers a multitude of different site safety issue’s and gives the candidates a basic knowledge of health and safety in different sectors.

Renewing a Competent Operator ProCard

The Competent Operator card is valid for 5 years and can be renewed. This should be done before the current card expires, the requirements to renew the card are as follows:

  • Hold a valid Competent Operator ProCard that has not expired
  • Pass the CITB Health, Safety and environment test (within two years of the card application)
  • Pass the ProCard Renewal Test for each category held
  • Demonstrate on-going practical operating experience through a choice of routes including Logbook, On-Site Assessment, ProCard Practical Test, NVQ.
