NRSWA Unit 2 - New Roads and Street Works

New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) course enable both operatives and supervisors to carry out works to the standards of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. This requires anyone who works on the highways to be qualified for the job being carried out.

NRSWA UNIT 2 – NEW ROADS AND STREET WORKS
This course covers signing, lighting and guarding, teaches delegates how to set out barriers, traffic lights, signs and cones safely.
COURSE INFORMATION
During this course you will gain knowledge and understanding in:
- Follow safe working practices
- Produce a plan of an intended site showing the position of signs, guarding and traffic signals
- Position, test and operate temporary traffic lights and equipment
- Comply with the restrictions of work
- Conduct the activities safely wearing the appropriate PPE
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This course is for new roads and street work operatives who locate underground apparatus, set up equipment for works on highways and carry out excavation, backfill and reinstatement.
A good understanding of spoken and written English.
ASSESSMENT
A mixture of classroom based teaching and group exercises with continuous oral and practical assessments.
CERTIFICATION
The Street Works Qualifications Register Card valid for 5 years.
