The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) card is an industry standard identification that shows an individual has the necessary knowledge and competence to work as a plant operator within the field of construction.
Launched in 2003, CPCS has issued thousands of cards for an extensive range of plant related courses. These courses are constantly reviewed by the CPCS Management Committee to ensure they react to industry feedback and external factors.
CPCS Articulated Dump Truck (A56)
This CPCS Articulated Dump Truck (A56) course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge to operate the Dump Truck safely and efficiently. This includes loading and unloading procedures, transporting materials etc.
COURSE INFORMATION
To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
- Pre-use and post-use checks
- Travelling over a range of terrains, including rough undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces, both loaded and unloaded
- Safe and tidy working areas
- Loading and unloading procedures
- Manufacturer’s handbook and relevant legislation
- Load integrity and security
- Shut down and securing procedures
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Learners must have passed the Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test within the last 2 years, prior to course start date.
A good understanding of spoken and written English.
ASSESSMENT
A mixture of classroom based teaching and practical exercises, followed by a one day assessment.
CERTIFICATION
Learners will receive a Red CPCS Trained Operator Card on passing the CPCS technical tests, valid for two years.
