The EUSR High Pressure Vacuum Jetting Tanker – Gully Sucker training course provides informative & practical training for High Pressure Water Jetting.

Providing new and experienced sewerage tanker drivers and sewer jetting operatives with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate vacuum tankers, with or without water jetting equipment. This course typically aims to ensure understanding of safety responsibilities, risk assessment, and practical skills in loading, operation, and discharge.

This course was meticulously developed by Pro Aspire’s quality team, from initial template design through to completion of the full governance process. Ensuring the course meets all applicable rules, regulations, and industry standards.

COURSE INFORMATION

The modules covered are:

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of the industry, including the associated hazards and the responsibilities of an operator.
• Possess working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook and be familiar with information sources such as risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), and relevant legislation, including permit requirements.
• Identify and explain the major components of the machine and their functions.
• Locate and understand the function of key machine controls.
• Perform all pre-operational checks in line with manufacturer guidelines and legal requirements.
• Identify, select, and correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for high-pressure water jetting.
• Choose the appropriate type of equipment based on the task at hand.
• Carry out safety inspections of the work area; correctly set up equipment and establish an exclusion zone.
• Establish effective communication methods with the pump operator and designated safety personnel.
• Prepare the machine for operation and use it in a safe and efficient manner.
• Consider environmental impacts during setup and operation.
• Properly store and transport equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Complete all end-of-shift procedures, including machine shutdown.
• Dismantle and clear the exclusion zone safely.
• Finalize and sign off on permits to work.

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Individuals involved in the operational activities of Vacuum Tankers / Gully Suckers who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary, including all levels of operatives, supervisors and management.

ASSESSMENT

The EUSR High Pressure Vacuum Jetting Tanker – Gully Sucker / High Pressure Water Jetting practical consists of the following key criteria

• Pre-use equipment and safety checks
• Location of blockage
• Condition of pipes
• Effective controls introduced
• Correct machinery selected and correctly positioned
• Barriers and warning signs erected and hoses protected
• Safe use of Vacuum Jetting Tanker

CERTIFICATION

Learners will receive an EUSR photo ID skilled operator card with the qualification stated on the back.

Tanker Operators will receive a card stating:

High Pressure Water Jetting Users only will receive a card stating:

• High Pressure Water Jetting

EUSR registration is valid for three years.
